Post-surgery care is essential for proper healing and infection prevention. Most patients recover within 2-4 weeks.
First 48 Hours Instructions:
- Elevate your foot as much as possible — reduces swelling.
- Don't wet the dressing — use a plastic bag when showering.
- Paracetamol every 6 hours as painkiller.
- Wear open shoes or sandals.
From Day 3:
- Daily soaking: Lukewarm water + one tablespoon salt per liter — 10-15 minutes.
- Fresh dressing: After each soak — antibiotic ointment + gauze.
- Monitor: Skin color, amount of discharge, presence of odor.
Weeks 2-4:
- Discharge gradually decreases.
- New skin starts growing.
- Can wear regular shoes — but wide ones.
Alerts:
- See doctor if: increasing redness, thick pus, fever, increasing pain instead of decreasing.
At BEIT TARIQ Center, we give you a detailed instruction sheet and follow up with an appointment after one week.
