Most simple skin lump removal procedures don't require extensive laboratory tests. But some cases need additional evaluation.
No Tests Needed (Most Cases):
- Small lipoma (less than 5cm) — young healthy patient.
- Non-infected sebaceous cyst.
- Skin tags.
- Small ordinary mole.
Tests Needed:
- Patient over 50: CBC + glucose + blood pressure — for reassurance.
- Patient on blood thinners: PT/INR — to assess bleeding risk.
- Diabetic patient: HbA1c — to confirm sugar control (affects healing).
- Large lump (over 5cm): May need ultrasound or MRI.
- Rapidly growing lump: Additional tests to rule out malignancy.
After Removal:
We always send the specimen for histopathology — even if it looks benign. This is the medical safety standard.
At BEIT TARIQ Center, we evaluate each case individually and request only necessary tests.
